## How to get one as a foreigner

First become a citizen. The fastest legal path is the [investment program](/citizenship-by-investment/), which needs no prior residence. Naturalization without investment usually takes [four to five years](/citizenship-without-investment/). Then request your DNI and passport from the National Registry of Persons (RENAPER).
