# Argentina citizenship by investment: program status and timeline

1.  May 2025**DNU 366/2025 published**
    
    Amends the Citizenship Law to allow citizenship for a relevant investment, and creates the Citizenship by Investment Programs Agency.
    
2.  July 31, 2025**Decree 524/2025**
    
    Sets the application procedure.
    
3.  January 2026**Master agent tender**
    
    Six firms submit bids to operate the program.
    
4.  April 2026**Tender cancelled**
    
    The government redesigns the operating model. An agency director is appointed by Decree 285/2026.
    
5.  June 2026**Court rulings**
    
    Two federal courts declare the decree invalid. The government appeals to the Supreme Court.
    
6.  October 2, 2026**Pricing announced**
    
    The Minister of Economy and the Chief of Cabinet present the amounts at Argentina Week in Paris.
    
7.  Pending**Certified agent criteria**
